On October 19, 2018, "Babeş-Bolyai"
University, Cluj-Napoca awarded the honorary title
of Profesor Honoris Causa to one of the most
prominent ecologists / entomologists in Europe,
namely Prof. Univ. Dr. Josef Settele of
Martin-Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, Germany.
The success of the event is primarily due to
Professor Univ. Dr. László Rákosy, Head of Taxonomy
and Ecology Department (Faculty of Biology and
Geology, UBB Cluj-Napoca), who practically initiated
and completed all the administrative steps required
for such an occasion.

The Romanian Lepidopterological Society would like to
thank the volunteers Louise Bacon, Vince Lea, David
Watkins, Tony Moverley, Chris Fletcher, Veronica Bell
and Zoë Harris for their activities in the "La Copârșaie"
Nature Reserve in Cluj, August 27-30, 2018. The seven
Cambridge Conservation Volunteers, together with RLS
representatives, have made considerable efforts to bring
the core of the reserve to a good conservation status by
mowing grassy vegetation and removing invasive
vegetation.
